how far is too far? inappropriate content being viewed in class on myspace.
It's distracting.. good topic to bring up?
i would think that the mere fact that this was noticed should certainly merit discussion in class. you have my vote as well.
I know the campus at large is concerned with content being viewed on myspace. I would think that the old standard PG-13 rating would be more than safe enough for college studet viewing.
On the other side of that topic, content that is offensive yet not explicit is a fine line. A topic, theme, or implication can be disturbing to people.
This is certainly a good topic for conversation. Should the school/classroom instructor impose a set of regulations beyond the obvious?
Should a student be allowed to surf anywhere on a school computer? Part of the answer is that these computers are used for educational purposes and not for general recreation. In a classroom setting we don't play computer games, for example.
Hmmmm.....
